Can you or your family members help?

Some 1100 patients in Australia (and many more worldwide) will search for a compatible blood stem cell donor every year.

To register as a possible stem cell donor takes little more than a swab of the inside of your cheek...

Patients with life-threatening blood cancers or disorders can be cured by healthy blood stem cells from complete strangers like you.

You have the Strength to Give.

Give someone a second chance at life!

Humour

For my next life...

"In my next life I want to live my life backwards.

You start out dead and get that out of the way.

Then you wake up in an old people’s home feeling better every day.

You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, and then when you start work, you get a gold watch and a party on your first day.

You work 40 years until you’re young enough to enjoy your retirement.

You party, drink alcohol, and are generally promiscuous, then you are ready for high school. You then go to primary school, you become a kid, you play.

You have no responsibilities, you become a baby until you are born.

And then you spend your last 9 months floating in luxurious spa-like conditions with central heating and room service on tap, larger quarters every day and then Voila!

You finish off as an orgasm."

— George Carlin (1937 - 2008)

About life...

Your days are so much more precious when you understand and accept there are not so many of them left.

Travel 2018

Bremer Canyon off the south coast of WA

One of many photographs I took of Killer Whales (Orcinus orca) on an expedition out to the Bremer Canyon in 2018. Popular and attractive, the Orca is in fact the apex marine predator!

WE SHOULD NEVER BELIEVE ALL THAT WE READ, and CERTAINLY

Philosophy meaning “love of wisdom” may have originated in Egypt?

Philosophy

“Man perishes; his corpse turns to dust; all his relatives return to the earth. But writings make him remembered in the mouth of the reader.”

- attributed to Irsesh 12th century BCE (discovered in the 1920’s on papyrus scrolls at Deir El-Medina, across the Nile from Luxor.)

Philosophy

"I don’t so much fear death as I do wasting life."

Oliver Sacks (1933-2015)
